THANK YOU SOUTH FLORIDA!!! by: Russ G |
Nov 23, 2009: On behalf of the Festival Flea Market Mall, DB Entertainment, and myself Russ G Events, I would like to Thank all of you who participated and attended our Festival show, without you it could not have been possible. It was a great show....and from my end, the smoothest run show since we started 2 years ago, thanks to Dick Barton and his staff..... Well over 30 South Florida Car Clubs were represented with some having more than 20 cars from each club registered. Cars from Ft. Meyers on the West Coast to Stuart in the North and South Miami attended. An unofficial count of over 750 cars were registered, down from last year's 856 count, due in part to the NASCAR race in Miami being held on the same day. But what cars we had !!!! a 1922 Model T, a 1937 Rolls Royce, a 1934 Packard, a 1915 Van Blerek that had crowds 5 deep around it all day. Plus......NCRS Corvettes, Street Rods, Kustom Cars, Antiques, Race cars, and on and on. There were cars, and cars, and cars that met with everyone's desires. All worthy of a trophy.... A large Vendor area that had brisk sales all day, with comments overheard......can I reserve my space for next year !......I might have to leave the show early....I'm sold out ! Gray Hound Rescue...........Relay for Life.. A Cancer project........America's Mom's For Soldiers......all brought awareness to their cause. Entertainment from our own "Scott the MusicMan" all day, plus special appearances by a Caribbean Music group, and proudly to say my son Talani provided the dance music and Hula Dancers from the Polynesian Islands for a great show. Door prizes were handed out all day from our Sponsors...Pep Boys Auto......Meguiar's Wax......Hagerty Classic Car Insurance. In attendance also were South Florida's DJ's....Rockin Rich and Eugene the Percolator. Plus "Jumpin Jack" who arrived early and stayed to the end of the show. Thanks ! guys. Great Weather.......Great Cars.......Great People.......Great Entertainment.......Great Sponsors.......A Great Show !!! Thank You all once again ! See you at our next show...........Sunday April 11, 2010 Russ Gagliano, Russ G Events |

FT LAUDERDALE MERCEDES SHOW COMMENTS! |
Name: LARRY V. Date 10/19/2009: Man the weather finally broke... Felt good to take the T-tops off run thru the gears at 5-G's letting that cold air slap you in the face. Got the stink eye from a state trooper but he didn't pull me over...lol The Benzo show was a good first show - had all the makings of a do over. Lots of great cars good car people steady foot flow throughout the day. Scott kept us all entertained as always good job man. Jack and crew ran another good show everyone had a good time IMO. Thanks Mercedes-Benz Ft. Laud for hosting the show there show-room is something else.... a must visit. Want to post a MIA anyone know where's "John Hardnose" is located....??? my-2 Name: Dave "webhead" Weber Date 10/18/2009: As they say, I'm baaaaaack! After missing a few shows and cruise nights due to travel, it felt great to be back and in attendance at one of "Jumpin Jack's" car shows once again. Today's show at Ft. Lauderdale Mercedes Benz was a relaxing show. Some cars I've never seen before were there, along with the regulars. It amazes me where the cars and trucks come from. There must have been 10 or so cars I have never seen before. Keep coming out to show your cars and trucks, they are truly unique. The management at the dealership was top notch to say the least. They kept walking the show and commenting on how great the cars and trucks were. I know they had a difficult time trying to decide on the "Best of Show" picks. The weather was very pleasant, cool and sunny most of the day with a strong steady breeze. It was nice not to be sweating and dripping on everything. Scott the DJ spun some cool music today, but that is what we expect from Scott. He never lets us down does he? Jumpin Jack and the "green team" was on top of their game today. One of the smoothest shows I've worked. Thanks to all for helping us launch another "NEW" show, without you we would not be growing in the South Florida car show scene. Next weekend is another New show, help us make that show a success also. Say a prayer for our troops, and please bring them home safe and sound. webhead |

WEEKEND UPDATE by: Jumpin Jack |
Sept 6, 2009: Again I want to thank all the classic car people who came out for the "Seminole Casino Hollywood" show Labor Day weekend... 140 plus cars! The show was a great success for the casino and they have stated that there will be more. I also was told by the casino that the 1968 Camaro was won on Sunday night, but the winner decided for a cash pay out. The casino has also stated that they will in other shows be giving away other classic cars.. maybe a street rod, or maybe a muscle car. 2009 Photos Again, thank you for your support and hope to see all of you at the FREE "Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Show" on Sunday October 4, 2009,10am-4pm. "Jumpin Jack Productions" Name: LARRY V Comments: Great Labor Day weekend show. The talk was rain but it turned out to be a beautiful South Florida day. Thanks to the Seminole Hollywood team for hosting this fine event….let’s do it again Hollywood. Looking forward to the “Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Show” ….I see Scott the music-man is DJ..ing good call….my 2jpg Name: DJ "Scott The MusicMan" Comments: What a GREAT Labor Day Weekend event it was Sunday! Over 140 registered show vehicles came out to enjoy an awesome day! The weather was beautiful, and the show was packed with cars and spectators! The show featured free registration and awards, non-stop spectators, and included unadvertised free beer and Mojito's, all day... as well as a nice portioned outdoor BBQ rib plate special for only $3! The fun rolled all day, and I spoke with numerous car people who won some nice substantial winnings inside too. I was not involved with the outdoor music this time, but it did give me the opportunity to visit with lots of folks and take many wonderful photos! Watch for this successful show to return again soon... brought to you by Jumpin Jack Productions. -DJ Scott |
LEFTY'S TAVERN & GRILL 1ST ANNUAL CAR SHOW DAVIE AUG 30, 2009 Jumpin Jack Productions |
WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
Aug 31, 2009: It was an excellent weekend for cruisin, and a GREAT show yesterday at Lefty's! Despite hot weather, we had sunny blue skies, plenty of shade, and an excellent turnout of about 100 show vehicles at our 1st show. The venue was very accommodating, the food was good, the beer was cold, and everyone was having a good time. Congratulation to Terry for winning the 32" Flat Panel HDTV! We look forward to another successful Jumpin Jack show here at this location again in the near future. Show photos will be available soon. This Sunday: we will enjoy another GREAT show on Sept 6th at the "Seminole Casino Hollywood Labor Day Weekend Car Show". The show will feature all the usual trophies, dash plaques, music, food buffet specials, and more! Most exciting news for this show is the 1968 supercharged Camaro giveaway. Best of all, this show is open to all, and absolutely FREE! Come on out for a fun time, brought to you by Jumpin Jack Productions. I am currently working on photos for Tattoo, Bru's Room, and Lefty's shows, and expect to post them soon... sometime this week. Click here for all the upcoming Events Take care and have a GREAT week! See you at the shows! -"DJ Scott" |

Jumpin Jack Productions, Lefty's Annual Car Show Name: Dave "webhead" Weber, Location: Pembroke Pines, FL Comments: Lefty's was a blast to say the least. The food was great, the a/c was cold, the show cars/trucks were awesome, and the weather was HOT. Scott the DJ did his normal superb job of taking us back into our childhood with some fantastic music. I can't believe I remember that far back. Thanks Scott. Jack and crew never wilted, even with the heat. The quality of cars was top shelf, some I've never seen before. The Corvette clubs came out in support, thanks for that. The food was very good, as were the soft drinks. Thanks to Lefty's for hosting the show, I hope they run another show in the near future. See you all at the FREE Seminole show this weekend.
Comments:Had to put my two cents in when I saw Jack with that big smile and arm around the hot blond....lol Great show Jack your team the green guys were very organized everyone had smiles. Scott was on his game he was awesome. Good times...thx. Name: Brian Allen, Location: Parkland Comments: What you should know about the SSR. Super Sport Roadster is a concept design by GM, part pickup and part roadster. The front end design and fenders are from the early 50'shevy truck. The frame is from a modern trailblazer and was reduced. The retractable top was added to the hot rod look and was produced by Karmann USA and GM. The SSR is a modern interpretation of nostalgic styling with modern engineering and safety. The 05 and 06 come with a 6.0l aluminum LS-2 engine. Hope that more people will understand that the SSR is new but came from the old fifties fat fender look . I have changed the look even more with the rims and paint. This tuck will become one of the most wanted in the years to come. Thanks Click here to see more > Guest Book Comments

WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
Aug 24, 2009: Enjoyed a GREAT weekend of shows and relaxation! Friday night was a "typical" good night at Towershoppes. Saturday night we enjoyed a nice crowd and BBQ at Ocean's 11. The "GM Express" club made their debut appearance with a big turnout, as this cruise in now an "open" cruise with no year cutoff. The cruise ended early around 8pm as a BIG storm came through. Sunday was a fun day at the Bru's Room show in Pompano! This annual show is hosted by the Time Bandits. It was a nice day, and a nice show turnout. The Coconut Cruise is a fun ride up A1A along the beach to Hillsboro and back. Myself & DJ Dee, Randy, Jack & Judy, Russ, Ace and Wilma joined the beach cruise on Harleys. We enjoyed a nice lunch, a nice car show, and fellowship with friends. This benefit show raised money for the Broward Children's Center. It was a good day! As mentioned already, there will be Funeral Services for Keith's mom Janet Pisut this Thursday in Ft. Lauderdale. Our hearts and prayers go out to Keith, Bob, and all the family. If you can attend, you are encourage to bring your hot rod or classic car. Family & Services Info This Sunday: we have a NEW show! It's "Lefty's Open Car & Truck Show" at Hiatus Rd / I 595 in the SW corner plaza in Davie. Great food, parking, and great location! Brought to you by Jumpin Jack Productions. I'm working on photos of Tattoo Show and Bru's Room shows. Click here for all the upcoming Events Take care and have a GREAT week! See you at the shows! -"DJ Scott" |

WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
Aug 16, 2009: It was an "active" week for weather, sights, and shows! Wednesday Night: we enjoyed a very nice time at "Classics On Las Olas". The weather was great, and over 90 cars came out for an enjoyable evening. It was also our last night at this cruise location. You can read Russ's comments and thankyou's here. Friday Night: was another typical good night at Towershoppes. Some initial stages of a tropical weather system went by us to our east and north, but left us alone for the evening. Saturday: tropical depression "Claudette" rolled though with some pretty heavy rain, and cancelled our Ocean's 11 Cruise. The cruise however, has been rescheduled to this coming Saturday night... same "bat time"... same "bat channel". Sunday: we enjoyed a GREAT day and show at the "14th Annual Tattoo Expo Show" put on by the Cruiser's of South Florida. Despite the heat, over 100+ cars came out to enjoy the day filled with plenty of shade, as well as some unusual things to see and do! The Tattoo Expo event draws followers from all over Florida (and further). The Expo puts on quite a weekend show... filled with live bands and entertainment, live "specialty" shows, convention sized rooms with booths and demonstrations, contests, and droves of interesting and unusual people! I have found that the "tattoo crowd" are some very nice and respectful people, who equally enjoyed viewing our car show on display setup in front of the Hilton. The car show extended and stretched down the road for at least a 1/4 mile or so... and every spot was a good one! Folks setup their chairs and tents and kicked back under the shade that extended the length of the show! This event is a benefit for "Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital"... and is always an excellent show! Nice job by the "Cruisers of South Florida"! Sunday Night: I didn't make it out to Tijuana Taxi... I was beat from working the long day in the hot sun! This coming weekend: we have another solid lineup of shows and cruise nights. Remember, the "Ocean's 11 Cruise" rain date has been rescheduled for this Saturday night. This popular cruise night on the beach will feature an outdoor BBQ again, and is now "open" to ALL show vehicles of any year! The "East Coast Street Stangs" are having their "ECSS Benefit Car Show" on Saturday... and Sunday the "Bru's Room" will also once again feature their annual show and beach cruise... always a fun time at this show. We will be keeping an eye on the "tropics", as it becomes much more active and intense now this time of year for us. As of this moment, we are in the path of tropical storm "Anna", which may affect our weather this week sometime. Tropical storms have the potential to turn into a full force hurricanes, just as "Hurricane Andrew" did back in 1991, or "Hurricane Wilma" did in 2005. Andrew devastated much of South Miami and Homestead, and was one of the costliest hurricanes in history. With Wilma, we lost power for weeks... and some less fortunate up to a month or more! See my own "personal Wilma aftermath photos" after the eye of the hurricane directly crossed us here in South Florida. If you're not already... get prepared... gas up.. .and be ready. I recently posted photos from the "Miami Springs" and "Sunrise Beach" shows, and expect to have photos from the Tattoo Expo Show up soon as well. This was the 40th anniversary weekend of "Woodstock Festival" in 1969! It was a different world and time back then... but it wasn't all that long ago! Most of the peace and love "hippies" that went are in their 60's now! If you have some time, read the Woodstock story, how it all happened! It's 8 full and detailed pages long! I was up till 3am reading... it was quite fascinating! Woodstock Story Click here for all the upcoming Events Take care and have a GREAT week! See you at the shows! -"DJ Scott" |
WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
Aug 12, 2009: Featuring a busy show lineup this week... with 4 cruise nights and 1 BIG car show! Wednesday Night: Come join us for a great FREE cruise spot at "Classics On Las Olas" in Ft. Lauderdale. It features blocks of great cars, restaurants, spectators, and fun! 6pm-9pm... brought to you by Pep Boys and Russ G Events. UPDATE: Future cruise dates have been cancelled... more This Friday Night: "Towershoppes Friday Night Cruise" ..South Florida's LARGEST cruise night! This Saturday Night: "Ocean's Eleven' Beach BBQ Cruise Night" is now an "open cruise"! All show vehicles are welcome. Located in Hollywood just south of Sheridan, east of A1A right on the beach! Once again will feature outdoor BBQ, music, drinks, and fun! 5pm-9pm... also brought to you by Pep Boys and Russ G Events. This Sunday: It's the "14th Annual South Florida Tattoo Expo Car & Truck Show" brought to you by "Cruisers of South Florida". This is one of South Florida's most popular and "unusual" benefit shows! It draws over 200 cars and tons of spectators, and stretches about 1/4 mile or more starting in front of the Deerfield Beach Hilton! While this may be a very hot time of year, there is plenty of shade that lines the streets and stretches the length of the show, making it very comfortable. There are vendors, food, live shows, and plenty to see and do as well. Come on out for a GREAT show and fun with your friends! This Sunday Night: wrapping up the weekend 5pm-8pm as always... the very popular... "Tijuana Taxi Sunday Night Cruise" Great food, music, and a BIG turnout of cars every Sunday night! I have some NEW PHOTOS (that I have been working on) of several shows that will be posted before the weekend! See winners at one of our previous shows presented by some very pretty "trophy girls". UPDATE: New photos are NOW available... Click here for all the upcoming Events Take care and have a GREAT week! See you at the shows! |

MIAMI SPRINGS 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND CAR SHOW!
WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
Friday Night July 18: Rain...rain...and more rain! Towershoppes started off with a pretty good crowd and nice weather, but that changed quickly as the rain rolled in. In this case though... the rain didn't stop! In fact, the storms intensified with severe lightning which went on for hours. I was trapped in my van for quite a while until the weather let up enough for me to still pack up in the rain. I got home soaking wet and watched the TV news report that DAVIE got MOST of the severe weather this night. I spent much of the next day drying out everything. Saturday Night July 19: It was a nice night for our Ocean's 11 Cruise & Pig Roast BBQ! A BIG crowd came out to enjoy the evening, and the outdoor cookout on the BBQ. The weather was beautiful and the skies were clear and blue (photo right). I heard the pork was delicious, but sold out before I got a taste. The lot was full of cars, the beach was full of bikini babes and swimmers, the boardwalk was a bustle of people, the music was playing, the grill was cooking, the drinks were flowing and people were kicking back enjoying the evening... and then the dark ominous clouds and weather rolled in. Once again, what started out as a nice night and clear blue skies, turned into rain at around 8pm (top photo). We did however, get in most of the show... a good few hours of fun, food, and enjoyment before the night ended! Sunday, July 20: It was the "Christmas In July Toy Run Event" for the Children & Families benefit. It was a BIG festival of fun at Tropical Park in Miami, featuring a big stage with numerous live bands... including concert by classic rock band "ZZ Not", a car & bike show, lots of food and vendors, and a nice crowd of participants and spectators. There was a HUGE police escorted caravan run from Peterson's Harley north store location down to the event. A BIG turnout of police agencies were present to offer an intense road block down the miles of the Palmetto Expressway we traveled, from the start at the north end all the way to the south Miami exit. I was quite proud to be a part of this major event, & was given the generous opportunity to ride as a V.I.P. on a Harley Ultra Classic in the run thanks to my good car friend, General Manager Ace Armstrong, and Peterson's Harley of N. Miami who also sponsored this event. Despite the July summer heat, there was plenty of shade in the park with trees and numerous event tents. The car show was ideally parked under the grandstands, which offered a cool place to sit back and enjoy. The weather stayed nice all day and we had a good time. Jumpin Jack gave out some very nice tote-bags and shirts, and the event raised money and collected lots of toys for needy kids and families. While this show may have been a bit of a drive for some, it was a good show and well worth the drive! This year's 2nd annual show doubled what it did last year. Watch for it to return again next summer... growing even bigger and better! Sunday night: was another wash too, but the few folks that came out to Tijuana Taxi enjoyed some food, drinks, and fellowship anyway... despite the South Florida evening summer weather. This Saturday: we will be at the Sunrise Beach Classic Car & Truck Show at the world famous Parrot Lounge, right on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Bring the family and enjoy the beach! The show will be from 11am - 3pm.. brought to you by our friend Russ G Events! I hope your weekend was a good one too! HOLLYWOOD "A Russ G Event" |
2nd Annual 4th of Lauderdale July 4, 2009 "Russ G Events" |
WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
July 5, 2009: It was a GREAT 4th of July weekend for car shows! Friday Night July 3rd: featured 2 events, both Towershoppes cruise night, and the Miami Springs annual event. Towershoppes ran briefly with DJ Dee providing early tunes, but once again, the evening cruise was called due to rain. Miami Springs however, was another story! The annual event was supposed to start at 6pm, but the cars were just lined up, patiently waiting, sitting in the pouring down rain. It was an intense thunderstorm with all the special effects... sideways rain and a lot of lightning and thunder! But patience paid off, the storms passed, and the show went on! Despite the bad start, it was an incredible night with over 140+ show vehicles in attendance! There was a BIG spectator crowd there as well to enjoy the decorated vehicles for the 4th! There was a HDTV flat panel raffle, and beautiful awards were handed out to best decorated vehicles in the end. The Miami Springs show ALWAYS draws a big turnout, and is a very cool venue. The streets are blocked off surrounding the gazebo park. Every spot is equal, and a good one, as the show cars wrap around the park. There are restaurants, and plenty of space to set up tarps and chairs in the park. Thanks again to Jim Borgman of Miami Springs and Jumpin Jack and crew for hosting this great annual "4th of July Eve" event. Saturday, July 4th: was our 2nd Annual Lauderdale By The Sea event... and what a great event it was! The day was beautiful, hot and sunny... just what you would expect on the 4th of July! The crowds came out in droves! We were treated to a nice parade, and the show followed up with a fun day with food, vendors, kids rides and activities, and a huge event tent with beachside live entertainment! The streets were blocked off , and it was all on A1A on the beach! It was a very nice show with plenty of promotion and a huge crowd! A very nice job as always by "Russ G Events"! I had to leave early, as I was off to another BIG city gig, the 4th of July evening event in Miami Lakes. I provided sound at the park with a big stage, several live bands, and some 5000-6000 spectators! "Joey & The Gigolos" were the headliner, and put on a GREAT oldies and doo-wop show! The night ended perfectly with fireworks to cheering crowds! It rained early before I got there, but the weather turned out to be beautiful (and hot) for the rest of the evening! It was an enjoyable show, and another excellent big promotion, by an even bigger guy... Jumpin Jack! Today I am sorting out cables, enjoying some air conditioning, and planning to go to Tijuana Taxi Cruise tonight to wrap up a GREAT 4th of July weekend! I hope your holiday was a good one! I'll leave the 4th of July babes up a little longer... show photos coming soon! We've got a pig roast and BBQ cruise coming up at Ocean's 11 July 18th in Hollywood, Christmas in July 19th at Tropical Park, and a new car show at the Parrot Lounge July 25th on Ft. Lauderdale beach... don't miss! Click here for all the upcoming Events Take care and have a GREAT week! See you at the shows! -"DJ Scott" |

6.29.2009: I don't really have much to report this week. I had a free and open weekend. Friday Night Jun 26: was cancelled due to early rain. Sunday Jun 28 was Jumpin' Jack's car show at Goldfinger's. I heard there was a nice turnout and it was reported to be a good show. Soupy likes any shows with girls! Although I miss it... for my own reasons, I don't DJ "adult club" shows any longer. I will see you at Jumpin' Jack's next BIG show! You may have noticed I posted photos from a few past shows. I made a promise... and I was up until 4am Saturday morning getting them done and uploaded. I hope you enjoy them! This Friday Night, July 3rd: is the "Miami Springs Annual Independence Car Show". This FREE evening show always brings out a BIG crowd. It is a nice venue at the gazebo park, in the circle of Miami Springs. There will be awards for Best Decorated for the 4th of July. This Saturday, July 4th: will feature our "2nd Annual Lauderdale By The Sea 4th of July Car Show" It is a BIG event with a parade, fireworks, live entertainment, stuff or the kids, and it's right on the beach! Last year's show was a real BLAST! Brought to you by Russ G Events. Click here for all the Events Take care and have a GREAT week! See you at the shows! -"DJ Scott" |

6.21.2009: What a HOT and GREAT weekend it was for car shows! Friday Night: An early strong thunderstorm moved across Broward County, but fell apart as it reached Towershoppes around 6pm. We waited it out... and sure enough it cleared up for the rest of the evening... and the cruise night went on. It was a "casual" evening with a moderate crowd. Saturday: We had a GREAT turnout with over 130+ cars for our 1st show at the Broward Mall. It was very hot, but there was some shade and relief available. We had a nice vendor section, and given out were some nice awards and prizes. "GM Express" came out in full force and won the "BEST CLUB PARTICIPATION" (again) with close to 40 cars! We greatly thank them for their strong support. Despite the heat, it was a very good first show, brought to you by "Russ G Events". Sunday: We enjoyed another awesome show at the "3rd Annual Father's Day Harley's & Hotrods Event". It was a cooker today as well, but close to 100 hotrods and show vehicles, and countless bikes and spectators came out to make today extra special for dad! This FREE show featured hotrods, bikes, babes, and BBQ! (but not particularly in that order). The free lunch consisted of your choice of delicious BBQ ribs or chicken off the grill, and there was cold beer for dad too! The bike show was hosted by "Bikes & Beauties Magazine", and the car show was brought to you by "Jumpin Jack Productions". Big105.9FM was on hand with Doc Reno & Toast doing their "live broadcast" from their tent location. We had a nice vendor section, and I cranked out some classic rock. Not only was the show and food free, but $400 in cash specialty awards were given out along with the Top Awards. Everyone came out of this show a winner! A BIG thanks to our friend Ace Armstrong and PetersonsHarley N.Miami for a GREAT show! We are already looking forward to next year's 4th Annual Harley's & Hotrods show on Father's Day! It was very UN-cool that someone deliberately booked a new and competing show Sunday, on the same date as our long scheduled annual Father's Day event. They came to our shows passing out their fliers for their competing event. It would have been so much better to have had the two shows everyone could go to, on open dates, working together, rather than have to choose between two shows on the same date. Like I said... UN-cool! It just hurts everyone. But there were apparently enough cars to go around. We had a GREAT turnout, and we had a fun day! Thanks to all who came out, for your support. I accidentally shot much of Sunday's show at 1600 ISO (I hate when that happens), but most of the photos came out fine, as you can see above (nothing I can't clean up with Photoshop). Watch for photos of the Broward Mall and Peterson's Father's Day Show to be available very soon. I also promised to post photos from both the Seminole shows, and CitiCenter show sometime this week. I guess I'm going be be busy! UPDATE: some photos are now available... The Tijuana Taxi Cruise went on as it does every Sunday night, but after 2 days in the heat & sun... I stayed home and cooled off in the pool. It was pushing the upper 90's both days... summer has arrived!! My buddy Rockin Rich always gets a nice crowd at this popular cruise spot! This Sunday: is the annual "Goldfinger's Show" in Sunrise, brought to you by Jumpin Jack. 2 Weeks - July 3rd: Friday evening is the "Miami Springs Annual Independence Car Show". This FREE evening show always brings out a BIG crowd. There will be awards for Best Decorated for the 4th of July. 2 Weeks - July 4th: will feature our "2nd Annual Lauderdale By The Sea 4th of July Car Show". It is a BIG event with a parade, fireworks, live entertainment, stuff or the kids, and it's right on the beach! Last year's show was a real BLAST! Brought to you by Russ G Events. WEEKEND CAR SHOW COMMENTS!
Name: "Webhead" Dave Weber, Comments: Sunday's show at Petersons Harley was a gas to say the least. Jumpin Jack filled the lot with some great looking iron. The Harley's out front commanded a long, hard look into some fantastic rides. DJ Scott cranked up some new and some old music to please everyone in the crowd. The BBQ was good even if the line never seemed to move. Small price to pay for good food I guess. Another show that produced some vehicles that don't usually make the rounds of car shows or cruise nights. The judging was especially hard because of the quality of cars in the field, kudos to all in attendance. It is amazing to see a car or truck progress from show to show, a little more detail here, a little more there, until the owner is rewarded with a trophy. That is what the sport needs, more vehicles to come out and be willing to take constructive advice from judges and other car nuts on how to improve his or her ride. Thanks to all for another great show. Looking forward to seeing a huge turnout for the Gold Finger show, brought to you by Jumpin Jack and the green machine crew. Say a prayer for our troops, past and present. "Webhead" Name: Soupy Comments: Russ / Glen / Scott and all of the others responsible for Saturday's show at the Mall... EXCELLENT job yet again. Well run and organized, and best of all, the weather, although freakin' hot, was great too. Any show with no rain from the time I leave the garage to the time I return is always that much better. Thanks to the Mall for a very decent 1st show. I hope the next one though, has us in a better spot for more Mall traffic, like near one of the main entrances. Soupy |

WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
6.16.2009: I was out of town most of the weekend... so here is what was reported to me... Friday night: was a good night at Towershoppes! The weather was ideal, and after a couple of previous rain-outs, everyone came out for a great evening with cars, friends, and families. Friday night, June 12 at midnight, we also witnessed a "historic" event where analog broadcast TV was turned off forever! Those who pay for TV were mostly unaffected, but for the millions who are still unprepared, they were left in the dark. As I mentioned earlier, this is an unprecedented move where a technology has been rendered totally obsolete overnight at the flip of a switch. We truly have witnessed so much change in our lifetime from cars to technology! Watch Ch10 Shutdown Saturday night: I heard it was an exceptional night at "Ocean's 11 Cruise" on the beach. I was in Marion Indiana for my daughter's graduation... so "DJ Dee" filled in for me with the tunes. I am told the weather was nice, the music was good, and their was a great turnout of cars and spectators! This popular monthly event is brought to you by Russ G Events and Pep Boys Auto. Sunday: It seems like only a few years ago that I was toting my daughter Kristi around in her baby seat at Happy Days! She graduated a high ranking school Sunday in the top of her class with over 3.7 GPA! Kristi was awarded a complete & full 4 year scholarship and will be attending Indiana State University! She plans to major in advanced mathematics and foreign language, and is one very smart girl! A "chip off the old block" I must say! I am one very proud dad! I had 2 graduations in my home this month. My step-son Aaron (DJ Dee's son), also graduated after attending 5 years at 'Calvary Christian Academy' in Ft. Lauderdale this month. He also graduated with top honors and scores, and will be attending Broward College. We are both very proud of him too, as he has grown up to be quite a smart and exceptional young man. Sunday night: it was a BIG party and celebration for Bob (parks the cars) at Tijuana Taxi Cruise in Coral Springs. A big crowd came out to enjoy the party and popular weekly cruise night as well. This Saturday: June 20th, we are looking forward to our ALL NEW "Broward Mall Car Show" brought to you by Pep Boys and "Russ G Events". It's an open show... all are invited! This Sunday: June 21st is our "3rd Annual Father's Day Harleys & Hot Rods Show". This annual event is brought to you by (our good car & bike friend) Ace Armstrong and the great folks at "Peterson's Harley Davidson of N. Miami". This show is completely FREE and is an open show! This year's "Father's Day" event will feature BIG cash awards to top show vehicles, along with FREE dash plaques and FREE lunch to 1st 100 cars registered! BIG105.9 radio celebrities will be broadcasting live from the event... and I will be cranking out the classic rock tunes to enjoy throughout the day! The car show event is brought to you by "Jumpin Jack Productions". Easy to get to location east of the Dolphin Stadium off the Turnpike. Watch for summertime to REALLY heat up with some GREAT shows in July and August too! Take care and have a GREAT week! See you this weekend at the shows! -"DJ Scott" |
OCEANS ELEVEN! Ocean's 11 Cruise Night this past Saturday evening saw record attendance, even though we were under the threat of black skies. But not a drop of rain fell. My thanks to all of you who participated and made it possible.......... Russ G Ocean's 11 Cruise Night on Hollywood Beach...

HISTORIC EVENT! END OF AN ERA!
June 12, 2009: Today we will witness a "historic" event... the switch from "analog" to ALL "digital" broadcast television! In just a few hours, analog broadcasting will be shut off FOREVER, turning millions of TV's, VCR's (and viewers) obsolete! What makes this unprecedented move unique is that NEVER in our history has a technical move forward ever been done without backwards compatibility, rendering a form of communication dead. When color arrived, black and white still had to work, when stereo arrived, mono still had to work, when FM arrived, AM still worked, when touch tones arrived, dial phones still had to work. The FCC has always required that new technology always work with old. Digital broadcasting has been working along with analog now for years... but today, that will all change forever! This move is being done to make room for more cellular communication. Yes... in just a few hours, millions of TV's, VCR's, and viewers will instantly become obsolete. The battery operated TV's we watched when we lost power in Hurricane Andrew and Wilma will no longer have a TV signal to tune in to! It is quite a historic event. There are still millions like myself who do NOT pay for TV and get it free over the airwaves. MILLIONS STILL UNPREPARED! Yes, I am fortunate to have all my digital converters in place picking up an amazing 62 local digital broadcast stations in perfect HD clarity. But to those who don't... the signals are about to be go dark and be shut off! forever! Bye bye viewers... and old analog TV! Watch Ch10 Shutdown 9am |

WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
6.8.2009: I don't have a lot to report this weekend... but here is what I do have... Friday night was a "wash out" at Towershoppes due to thunderstorms! Welcome to summer time in South Florida! One thing though... you can always check this website for "up to minute" show or cruise updates. If a show gets cancelled, I will usually post that cancellation here if I am near a computer and have access. The updates will show up immediately! We are looking forward to better weather this weekend! Saturday, there were a couple shows going on... I had a city event for Southwest Ranches, while "DJ Dee" filled in for Rockin Rich at the "Total Mustang Supply All Ford Show" in Coconut Creek. I heard the show went very well with lots of great giveaways, BBQ, and an excellent turnout of cars! Sunday, the weather turned out to be GREAT, and a few of us "car guys" went riding motorcycles around South Florida again for most of the day. Our little car group included Randy on his "newest" toy.. a Heritage Softail Harley, Jack and Judy on their Harley, myself and DJ Dee on an Ultra Harley, and Russ G on his newly modified Shadow. A BIG thanks again to Randy for making the ride possible for Dee and myself! It was GREAT to see Russ riding again on such a cool custom bike! We ran into friends and people we knew along the way just about everywhere! It was a casual day of friendship, relaxation and fun! I'll throw up a couple photos as soon as I get a chance.. "Car Guys Cool Ride" Sunday ... Pictured (L-R): Jack, Randy, Russ, Scott Speaking of photos... I am way behind and have quite a few shows to post. It has been a busy time for me... and once in a while I just have to take a break! I've had visiting relatives, with travel and several graduations in our family, along with working the car shows, and trying to keep up with all the house stuff. I have been rewiring getting ready for our DTV transition this weekend. I will post the recent shows as soon as I can! We have (2) "Russ G Events" this week: This Wednesday night we have our "Classics On Las Olas" cruise night again from 6pm-9pm on downtown Las Olas Blvd. There are always plenty of admiring spectators, and a lot of great restaurants to enjoy. The night goes very quickly... We do this one every other month. This Saturday night it's our monthly "Ocean's 11 Saturday Night Beach Cruise". This cruise also features plenty of spectators, Pep Boys product giveaways, a nice patio bar overlooking the show, and a nice meal discount to our show vehicles. Bring the family.. this one is right on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk at the ocean! Part of our "Cruisin Series".. both cruise nights proudly sponsored by Pep Boys Auto. 2 Weeks: We are looking forward to our new "Broward Mall Car Show" Sat, Jun 20th, also brought to you by Pep Boys and "Russ G Events". It's an open show... all are invited! 2 Weeks: Speaking of Harleys, Sunday June 21st is our "3rd Annual Father's Day Harleys & Hot Rods Show". Classic rock tunes to enjoy throughout the day... show by "Jumpin Jack Productions". Easy to get to location east of the Dolphin Stadium off the Turnpike. WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
5.31.2009: Today we enjoyed our first new show at the newly remodeled Pompano Citi Center on Federal Highway at Copans Rd. This place has really changed since the mall I remember back in the 80's. The Citi Center show was to have show cars prominently displayed throughout the courtyard in a very nice setting, but it turned out the fire marshal had a different plan. Apparently despite the building being remodeled to code standards, there was major concern that the cars might catch the mall on fire, so everyone was asked to relocate away from all walls and overhangs. I was quite surprised to learn that the concrete walls were remodeled with materials that may be flammable, so extreme caution had to be heeded. After moving our cars and DJ away from walls and more towards the center area of the courtyard, we could safely go on with the show! Unfortunately, this did limit the cars we were able to park, and many of our show cars remained in our "overflow" parking outside the courtyard area in regular parking. I'm sure the fire marshal, who seemed like a nice enough guy, was just doing his job enforcing the law. Despite the fire and parking restrictions, the Citi Center management and security did everything they could for us, were extremely accommodating, and the show turned out to be very nice! There was plenty to do with all the restaurants and shops, and even nice places to take cover when the rain hit us. But the rain didn't stay, blue skies came back out, and our show went on. The Citi Center poured a lot of effort into this show, and did a lot of advertising and promotion for this event. We had hundreds of spectators come through admiring the beautiful cars! In addition to the crowds, we also had special guest appearances by some very beautiful young ladies who will be competing for Miss America. These girls shared their style and class, as they also admired the classic cars. Personally... I was happy to learn the "Miss America" organization is NOT affiliated with that "other" organization that recently made news after it chose to support some "NO class" gutter of the earth competition judge that blatantly defamed one of it's own contestants when she was asked to share her moral and personal beliefs. How does a so called "professional" organization stand behind the public trashing and humiliation of one of it's own... a beautiful contestant who very respectfully answered a question about her beliefs and values? The Hollywood public media also chose to trash her. She chose her values over a first place crown in the sleazy organization she is involved with. Personally, I am glad however, to see there is still some integrity left in our world, and I wish these girls the best as they go on in their competition with a well respected and decent organization. I believe the Miss America organization still represents the values of "America" most of us still believe in.. and it was very nice to have them representing at our show! (Pictured above on far right is Aubrey West, daughter of friend Lt. Colonel Allen West who is running for Congress). This show was also sponsored by Pep Boys, who gave out nice prizes and those new coveted speed shop shirts, and offered guest appearances by the infamous characters, Manny, Moe, and Jack. We congratulate Scott Stoughton from Pep Boys on his very nice promotion, and wish him, and his family the best as they move back up north. Watch for their continued support and sponsorship in our local shows, including the Festival Show coming in November. Thanks again to Julie and all the all the folks at the Citi Center, Pep Boys, our car guys, the spectators, and Russ G Events for a great first show. Watch for this one to return again. Photos should be available in the near future. Our next "Russ G Events" will be: "Classics on Las Olas" on Wed, June 10th. Well, I don't make the news... I'm just reporting it. Welcome to hurricane season... Have a great week! See you at the shows! |

WEEKEND UPDATE by: DJ SCOTT |
5.26.2009: It was a busy weekend for car shows... and the weather. The weather was actually nice for us Friday night at Towershoppes, and by the end of the evening, the stars were out. Saturday, despite the rain, there were some shows that went on, and others (like the Honey Baked Ham show) that were cancelled. It rained on and off most of the day. Sunday, we had a GREAT show at the Seminole Casino in Hollywood. Well over 100+ cars packed the show as conditions were nice when we arrived. About 11am or so however, the weather let loose on us, and at several times was almost coming down sideways. But not to worry, there was plenty to do and a nice place to get out of the rain. Many went inside the casino to try their luck, or to enjoy the lunch buffet. Despite the pounding weather outside, it was a time to enjoy fellowship together inside for a brief time. It wasn't too long before mother nature calmed down, and the sun came out for the rest of our show. After a few hours, everything was dry for the rest of our show, and for the ride home. The timing of the weather was great, and so was our first show here. Thanks to all who came out and for your support, and thanks to the Seminole Hollywood Casino and Jumpin Jack for a nice show! Look for this one to return again sometime soon! Photo above courtesy of Jack Kuharsky, More full show photos will be available soon. Sunday night we enjoyed the weekend wrap-up at the Tijuana Taxi Co, where a nice crowd came out for dinner and show. Always a nice job by Rockin Rich and the staff of this popular cruise night. Monday was Memorial Day! Did you thank a vet? I for one, thank all those who sacrificed and gave service to our country so we could enjoy the freedoms we sometimes take for granted. Of course, many gave their lives as the ultimate sacrifice, and it is to them we offer our memorial. It's a little sad, but there were only 2 flags flying in my neighborhood... and soon I may be the last one! Thank you again to all our servicemen from one proud American! There is nothing like the freedom of cruisin around our great land in a classic car, convertible, or a couple of nice Harleys too. Diane and I joined friends Jack and Judy, for our Memorial Day ride. We didn't go too far, but we did step back to enjoy the day. Our ride included stops at several parks around Broward county, stops for BBQ, and to visit with friends. Despite a little rain in the late afternoon, it was a perfect day! Pictured left are DJ Dee & myself on a very nice "2000 Heritage Softail" which rode like a dream all day! Special thanks go out to my good friend Randy for the nice ride, for his generosity, and for making our day! He couldn't join us because he was off at "Rick Case Honda" getting a great deal buying a new car. Regardless, we all scored on a GREAT Memorial Day! This coming up Sunday, May 31st, we have a VERY nice show at the "Citi Place" in Pompano! We will be parking inside the courtyard for quite a show! It will also feature live entertainment too. Prime parking will be one of the highlights of the show, and parking at the show will extend as far out as needed. Another premium car show brought to you by "Russ G Events"! Have a great week! See you at the shows! -DJ Scott (mouse over photos above) |
SEMINOLE CASINO HOLLYWOOD CAR SHOW! |
||
Comments: Seminole Casino Hollywood show today (Sunday) was another "first show" for Jumpin Jack Productions. The weather was cooperative at the start of the show and provided all with a tremendous sound and light show during the middle stages, only to end the day with great weather. The rain came fast and furious for about 1 hour before giving way to sunshine. Only in Paradise! DJ Scott kept everyone happy with the music as he always does. There were a few new and exciting cars/trucks to check out at this FREE show, along with the regulars that make the car show scene such a wonderful event for the whole family to enjoy. Jack's "jolly green" crew tried to keep everyone happy and hopefully did so. The Casino staff, security, and maintenance people worked on making it fun for all - and they let us gamble too. Hope to see all of you at the next Jumpin Jack Productions car show. We would not have one without you. "webhead"

Commentary by: DJ "Scott The MusicMan" May 10, 2009: Without trying to state the obvious, times are clearly tough in today's economy. We do NOT live in the same world we did years ago. The Towershoppes Friday Night Cruise is South Florida's largest cruise night, is going on 16 years now, but is not without exception! The success of this historic and legendary cruise is due to many reasons: great venue, lighting, location, restaurants, music, vendors, spectators, crew, and supportive car community! What people may not know are the efforts the Florida Street Rods have put in over the years to keep this very popular cruise night going. Over these years, contracts had to be signed, agreements had to be made, and many late hours past midnight at local town council meetings fighting for us to be there, are just some of the efforts and work that has been done. Of course, in addition to the "behind the scenes" work, every Friday night sections have to be roped off, vendors and parking has to be managed, and crowds have to be controlled, and cleanup has to be done afterwards. This requires the efforts of a dedicated team, who show up reliably and work hard, early and late, every Friday night to ensure that the car community can just show up and have an enjoyable evening! Without these efforts, trust me, we would not be here! When there is a problem, who is the first person people run to? There seems to always be some "issue" that has to be dealt with every week, and it takes someone like Mike, Sid, or the others to fix it, because it won't fix itself. Much of this event is supported through our vendors too (some very nice people), which has decreased in size over the past few years, for a number of reasons. The City of Davie came out and decided which vendors could stay, and who had to go. In addition to losing vendors, the management continues to ask for more money to be here. Add this to the costs of fees the City of Davie demands to meet code rules, event insurance, police protection, and what not, the cost keeps going up, all with with less vendor support. After all this, if the vendors aren't supported, then more of them just can't afford to come out anymore, and we all lose! People are tight with their hard earned money these days, understandably so. However, if we don't support our own hobby and that which we enjoy every week, we WILL lose it! You would be very surprised to learn how much it costs to put on Towershoppes Cruise every Friday night just to break even. You would also be surprised to learn how much work is involved to manage it every week, by the efforts of a small team of devoted guys. So please don't bust their chops, just because they are doing what is necessary for us all to enjoy our cruise night! Help them out, and give them some encouragement! They were fortunate (for all of us) to be in the right place at the right time many years ago, but only thru continued efforts of the Florida Street Rods who host this show, are we still here... and all of us benefit! We love our hobby, our cars, and are fortunate to have such a great car community of friends to hang with at the shows and cruise nights every weekend! As with ANY host of any car show or cruise night, PLEASE support those who support US!!! As announced, the parking fee will unfortunately be going up to $3 starting this Friday night. I know this decision was NOT made easily or lightly, was held off as long as possible, but is necessary due to all the circumstances I've tried to explain. Even at that price, it's still not much more than the cost of a drink to you, and it mostly just offsets lost vendor support. What is pretty cool right now, is the parking pass is a great way to not only show you are a proud supporter of our event, but right now it can actually save you quite a bit of money (if you come out regularly), both in the savings over new parking fee costs, plus in the nice discounts some of our supportive local restaurants and businesses are offering. The savings could easily and quickly pay for the cost of the pass over a short time. A little quick math and you will see it's a very good deal! This should go without saying (as most of you already know)... please be "respectful" of each other, and respect the Towershoppes Cruise rules too:
Most of these rules apply at any "classic" car show (except most hip hop car shows.. you are on your own). I also wish the past disrespectful dog owners at Towershoppes could have been banned instead of the dogs, but unfortunately all the dog owners had to be penalized. Please, not only respect the show host (who are contracted and have authority over event)... but have "common respect" for each other! This is just common courtesy, and will make the event enjoyable for everyone! I was NOT asked to write any of this... but I felt compelled to do so... for ALL of us. As I said, please continue to support our vendors, sponsors, staff, restaurants, promoters, and anyone actively involved in our car shows. They keep it alive for all of us. BE PROUD TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! Support those who support us! Have a GREAT week... I'll see most of you next Friday night! Cheers! SEMINOLE CASINO 1ST ANNUAL CAR & TRUCK MAY 3, 2009 It was another PERFECT day for another GREAT show! Over 240+ show vehicles came out and enjoyed a "picture perfect" South Florida day at a new classic car show location! Everyone enjoyed the venue, and some of our car guys, like Jack and Terry, even won big in the casino! The Seminole Casino went "all out" on 100 very nice quality trophies! Congratulations to our "Top 100" winners, & thanks to all the other deserving participants too! Your support made this first time show a BIG success! Thanks again to Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, and a nice job by Jumpin Jack and all the crew! Watch for this show to return again at this same location! Also, join us at our next all new "Seminole Casino Hollywood Carshow"... Memorial Day weekend, Sunday May 24th, 2009. I took over 600+ wonderful photos from this show, and have already started the processing... they will be available very soon! DJ Scott Comments: The Seminole Coconut Creek Casino show was a HUGE success this past Sunday. 240 plus cars and trucks graced us with their presence. The casino management, janitorial and security crew were ever-present during the show. Jumpin Jack and his band of regulars (in the pretty green shirts) did a superb job in directing and judging. Scott the DJ had to raise the bar once again, with such a large area to reach out to.. Scott more than covered it with ease. How about those trophies! Not only were they good looking but they were heavy to boot. The only sad part was that only 100 cars received trophies and many more were deserving. I can't wait for the Hollywood Seminole Casino show in a few short weeks. Let's try for 300 cars! This was by far the friendliest show I have ever attended and/or worked at in my 7 years here in Florida. Thanks to all who made our job so easy and enjoyable. Now if we could only have you open your hoods for judging! LOL! "Webhead" |
Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Show!

MAROONE AUTO ANNUAL CAR & TRUCK APR 19, 2009 It was a PERFECT day for another GREAT show! Over 100+ show cars came out and enjoyed the day, along with plenty of spectators too! There were lots of giveaways, a 32" HDTV flat panel raffle, food, music, and plenty of great folks with their awesome show cars! Thanks to Maroone Auto, and a nice job by Jumpin Jack and all the crew! Comments: Another beautiful day in Paradise here at Maroone Chevrolet in Pembroke Pines. Over 100+ cars jammed the parking lot Sunday for the Maroone show staged by the exciting and talented Jumpin Jack himself, the sales staff at Maroone, Jack's helpers, and the one and only Scott the DJ. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm with a cooling breeze. The car owners were busy putting the final details on their rides, finding a spot in the shade and enjoying each others company. The show was organized, and the spectators got an eyeful of how hard these people work to make their cars spotless and beautiful for all to enjoy. Thanks to all for a nice show, hope to see you all at the next Jumpin Jack show on Sunday, May 3rd. How about those nice new green shirts that the event staff wore. No more hiding for the staff, now we have to earn our bread and water. Say a prayer for our troops and their families. Webhead Weber |

She was a loyal and faithful close companion to Tom for many years... came to many of the car shows, and was family to all the car people too. I personally believe that pets are a little gift from God to us, and He has a special place for them when they pass on. Our thoughts are with you Tom during this sad time in the loss of Marina. BY: DJ "SCOTT THE MUSIC MAN" Mar 14, 2009. Well, it was another incredible night in Miami Lakes for the semi-annual "Mainstreet Saturday Night Cruise"! The weather was beautiful, and the cars were lined up early to enjoy one of the BEST cruise spots in South Florida. This event featured "live" entertainment by "Joey and the Gigolos" performing on our street corner stage doing funk, doo-wop, and classic R&B favorites! The crowd really came out this night to enjoy the great cars, great entertainment, great food, and great music... which filled the Mainstreet! This event always draws a BIG crowd, and this show was no exception. Well over 150 cars double parked and packed the streets, and the spectators came out in droves. Brought to you by "Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs" along with our own "Jumpin Jack Productions", this was a happening night to remember! Listen to the "Gigolos" recorded live!
Look for our next show Veteran's Day weekend in November! |

WEEKEND UPDATE! 3/17: Saturday night we enjoyed another incredible night at Miami Lakes Mainstreet Cruise! The event was packed full of show cars and spectators, and we were treated to live doo-wop by 'Joey and the Gigolos'! Nice job by Jumpin Jack putting this semi-annual event together! Sunday was a very nice day off! DJ Dee & I enjoyed riding Harleys all day with Jack, Judy, & friends! We started at Holiday Park (left) and stopped later at JP Mulligan's for their St. Patty's Day bike event... and ended our wonderful day at Tijuana Taxi. Thanks out to Randy for the awesome day riding! |

CAR SHOW WEEKEND UPDATE! |
|
Mar 9, 2009: What an incredible and busy weekend it was for car shows! There were at least 5 local car shows (plus 1 car cruise night) that I am aware of, and the weather was great all weekend long. This year, the AACA Ft.Lauderdale Region teamed up with "Dave Rupp Collector Car Auctions" and expanded it's "2009 In The Tropics" show into a 2 day event! The show was moved to a new location at the 'War Memorial Auditorium' Holiday Park. In addition to the large vendor area, there was the show car section, and a big car corral section as well. I worked this show Saturday, and Mrs. "DJ Dee" entertained show goers with great oldies at Sunday's day #2 show. I really liked the atmosphere of the new show location this year. Some people may not know, but the "In The Tropics" show has been an "open class" show for several years now, so all vehicles are welcome! We look forward to an even bigger and better show in 2010! Sunday, it was a BIG event for the "21st Florida Mopar Nationals", hosted by the 'Florida Mopar Connection Car Club'! Our 2nd year at our sponsor "University Dodge" location in Davie, it was another great and successful show! There was a large vendor section, plenty of thrilled spectators, great giveaways, great weather, and some of Florida's rarest and best Mopars seen anywhere! Racing legend Darrell Gwynn was also on hand greeting the folks and just enjoying all the great cars too! This show used to be held at "Tree Tops Park" in Davie, but due to increasingly difficult county rules & regulations, the show had to find a new location... and "University Dodge" has been extremely accommodating and helpful in a big way! It was really surprising to me to see how many car people who do not own Mopars come to this show! Hats off to our sponsor and our host club for an awesome show! There were also at least 3 other shows on this busy Sunday, including the "30th Annual Our Town America" show with Eugene Reidy. Add to that, "Palm Beach Intl' Raceway" hosted their "Super Chevy Sunday Show", although I never personally saw any advertising or promotion for this event in our area. I have not spoken with anyone that went to this show yet. Then there was yet another show at a local karting place, that also did very little promotion, and picked a big day to add another show to. Sunday night, DJ Dee and myself topped off our jam packed weekend with a casual dinner and a nice relaxing time with friends at the "Tijuana Taxi Cruise" in Coral Springs. Rockin Rich hosts this event which draws a nice solid crowd every Sunday night! It was a GREAT weekend to be out with classic cars and friends! The "Cheetah Club" made some news this week too. While you may not be aware yet, despite how much I enjoyed doing this show, I made a personal decision last year not to do adult club shows any longer. Jack understands my decision, and we will continue to work together as always on all the rest of his shows. The folks at the Cheetah show could not have been any nicer or more accommodating, and my decision was made strictly for personal reasons only. It is a fun and very popular show! This Saturday night we will be in Miami Lakes for the "Mainstreet Cruise", which always draws an incredible turnout! This is considered one of the BEST cruise spots in South Florida! The streets (closed off to local traffic) are lined with stores, theaters, restaurants, and packed with spectators... and will be "THE" place to be this Saturday night! This year's show will feature some great live doo-wop entertainment with 'Joey and the Gigolos'! The show is brought to you by our very own "Jumpin Jack Productions". If you are interested in joining us for our car guys "Bahama's Cruise" on May 15-18, you need to register by Mar 30th. This years cruise is brought to you by Pep Boys Cruisin Series, and Russ G Events! For DJ Dee and myself, it will be our first ever cruise and we are looking forward to it! We just hit 7 million pages viewed this week! That's all I have for now! Take care... have a GREAT week... and I'll see you next Saturday night! -DJ Scott (photos will be posted soon) |

MIRAMAR 5TH ANNUAL CLASSIC MARCH 1, 2009 It turned out to be a beautiful day with 80-90 "show cars" on display! The event included vendors, food, kids activities, and lots of GREAT giveaways! Read Me Thanks to ALL who came out in support, and to the SW Broward Elks, PAL, Jim Lind, Jumpin Jack, all the volunteers, and our host the City of Miramar! 2009 Photos |
Name: Dave "Webhead" Weber Comments: Another beautiful show in Paradise. Attended the Miramar show on Sunday, another Jumpin Jack whopper of a show. The City of Miramar and its supporting sponsors made everyone feel at home -- again. If you had children and did not attend or visit the show then shame on you. Everything was there to the family man or single person for that matter. The show competed with 3 (actually 4 other) highly advertised shows and still drew 75- 80 cars. A nice turnout considering everything going on. Scott was cracking us up all day long, I think his stomach ached from laughing so much. Thanks for laughs Scott. Jack and staff did a bang-up, thanks Jack. Can't wait for 2010. Webhead Turns out there were at least (5) competing shows at the same time in South Florida on this date!..(3) Miami / (2) Broward. Regardless... it was an excellent show! -Scott |

Latest post from the Guestbook Name: Bob Murphy, Gold Coast British Sports Car Club. Location: Davie, Florida Comments: Scott, Another great job at the British Classic. Thought you would like to read the write up by Jeff Zorn of "Little British Car Company" out of Michigan. (Not the whole thing, just what he said about our DJ)... "Ok now for the fun. Sunday it was just beautiful, about 84 and clear skies and sunny. There were about 170 cars at the show up about 10 from last year (which was the first year at the new location) and everyone seemed to have a great time. Being at a shopping plaza, there were several restaurants where folks could chow down, there was great British music (the best DJ I have heard at a show yet) and lots of cool cars including a barn find DB6. All of South Florida agrees with the guy from Michigan. Thanks again. Murph Thanks guys, for the nice compliments -Scott |

AMBER ALERT! |
Hello from Islamorada in the Florida Keys! Feb 9: I am writing you from the beautiful keys "ISLANDER RESORT" in Islamorada where myself and Mrs."DJ Dee" are enjoying a few brief days away... celebrating our 8th anniversary. We won this free 3 day / 2 night stay at the Renegade Corvette Club's "Ed Morse Sawgrass Show" in January! We have an awesome view overlooking the pool area facing the Atlantic Ocean. Our suite has a full kitchen and the resort is really nice! We never get away... so this was a real unexpected treat for us! I have been very busy lately... so this is a much needed change. I was surprised to find a high speed WiFi internet connection... so here I am. Tomorrow's island adventures will probably take us to Key West, or wherever the tropical breezes blow us. Lots of great local spots, and places to eat too. The photos below were taken from our location earlier today. We'll see you back in South Florida on Wednesday night for the "Las Olas Cruise"... then Saturday night for the "Valentines Cruise at Ocean's Eleven"! Cheers... DJ Scott |

COCONUT CREEK 3RD ANNUAL CAR & TRUCK SHOW
WEEKEND UPDATE! Jan 19, 2009 |
What a GREAT weekend it was for car shows! Saturday Jan 17: The 'America's Corvette Club' hosted their annual "Reflections in Glass XXVI" show...and broke all their previous records! It was an absolutely gorgeous and beautiful day with perfect temperatures, and over 250+ incredible Corvettes and show cars. Actually 2 shows in one, it featured South Florida's finest Corvettes and GM's, along with many cars that traveled a great distance from out of town too. There was a large vendor section, a big silent auction tent, and tons of giveaway door prizes. The grand finale was the massive trophies presentation, along with a TV giveaway, and a record breaking over $2,700+ collected in 50/50! This club works very hard to ensure that everyone has a memorable day! A lot of work went into this show...and it showed. Hats off to all for an awesome event! I should also note that people were still talking about the GREAT show at Ed Morse hosted by the Renegade Corvette Club from last week! Two excellent back to back Corvette shows! Sunday Jan 18: We enjoyed another beautiful sunny South Florida day at the Coconut Creek 3rd Annual Car & Truck Show. The lot was near full to capacity with over 130+ show vehicles! In addition to the nice show cars and nice venue at the Community Center, we were treated to an on-stage show featuring Johnny DeRose doing his live "Tribute To Elvis"! He appealed to a large spectator audience moving around in the crowd singing popular Elvis hits of yesteryear! A nice job by the City of Coconut Creek, the volunteers, and our own promoter Jumpin Jack! 2009 is off and running strong! Take care... DJ "Scott The Music Man" |
Comments: Scott, Just a quick note to say your work at the Coconut Creek Car Show was great! I was shocked to hear a couple of country and western songs as well as a bluegrass song during the day. That was GREAT!!!!!! When you played "I'm In The Jailhouse Now" I thought I was hearing things! I haven't heard that song in probably 50 years or more!!! I later found out it was in a recent movie (I guess that's where you got it from), but that didn't detract from it at all. FYI, that was a VERY popular song back in the early 50"s; it was fabulous hearing it again. Alan Jackson was another surprise (a happy one for me). Keep that sh#*kicker music coming, it's great. The turnout was unbelievable, it had to rival the Festival show as far as number of spectators per car!!!! The place was packed almost all day! Too bad we don't have that kind of turnout for all the shows. It just proves that if you advertise, they will come! The biggest reason we don't get the turnout we'd like at all the shows is definitely due to the lack of advertising, IMHO! Kudos to all involved in the presentation of the show. Speaking as someone who has worked for a few years behind the scenes of many expositions, conventions and special events, I know how difficult and time consuming it is to put on a successful show. Again, thanks for a great show and a nice afternoon. Jay67fast - 67 Black Mustang Fastback. LARRY Ed Morse Sawgrass 3rd Annual Car & Truck Show: Wanted to thank "JACK" and his crew, Ed Morse, Renegade Vette club Music-Man Scott for putting on a great show. Well organized everyone with smiles.. Scott even spun some Robin Trower you don't get that at any show. Saw some old and meet new car friends the reg. gang Mike Soupy Nelson Clem Dave AL Mark Jim don't know where Big Al or JR or Anthony were..? It was good to see Ray with GM Express out in force. Even saw Russ walking around in his sundays best. Tried my best to stay away from John Hardisson he was sick as a junk yard dog...guess what no chance lol. Good times & memories is what I guess I'm trying say here, so Thank You to all that make these show what they are. This one really stood out as one of my best 5 I've ever attended...THANK YOU! |

Name: "Webhead" Dave Weber Comments: Ed Morse Sawgrass Show. This was another great Jumpin Jack Show. Over 200 great cars. DJ Scott played some new material and it went over well. The Renegade Corvette family did a superb job of hosting and keeping things in motion. A few new faces were seen along with some familiar ones. All in all it was a well run show. Jumpin Jack Productions is the best we have to offer here in South Florida. Great job Jack and crew. |

Name: "Webhead" Dave Weber Comments: Attended the Full Throttle Show Saturday evening (January 3rd, 2009). At the start of the show (6pm) over 200 cars had been parked with a long line still waiting to be parked. We met the young man from Puerto Rico that was awarded the wheelchair, what a great kid. What a cool wheelchair. The cars were some of the nicest that I've seen in a long time. The Pro's that came out for the D-G benefit should be congratulated for the time and effort put forth. The Sheehan Autoplex was a kind host to such an event. The foot traffic was some of the most I've seen at any event-where did they all come from. That's all I wanted to say, thanks for reading and have a great year supporting our car shows and cruise nights. |

LETTERS FROM THE MAILBAG! Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2008 The Pep Boys Cruisin’ Series on Las Olas was a huge success Wednesday night. Cars were lined up an hour early to get into the event. In the first half hour we registered 100 vehicles. By nights end there were classic cars stretched 4 city blocks on both sides of Las Olas. Pep Boys entered the enthusiast community in South Florida in a big way that night. Event participants were thrilled when they received PEP BOYS "Cruisin’ Series" tee shirts, don’t touch magnets, sample Mequiars products, stickers, vintage posters and had an opportunity to win prizes. Many were asking when the next Pep Boys series event was scheduled so they don’t miss it. Next "Cruisin Series" events: January 10 - Ocean’s 11 on Hollywood Beach, and return to Las Olas - January 14. Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2008 Last night, I invited a group of visitors to Ft. Lauderdale to join me at "Classics on Las Olas" classic car show on Las Olas Boulevard. I was pleased to see that Russ Gagliano of Russ G Events Classic Cars, local classic car restorer and car show promoter, was there. Russ had acquired the sponsorship of Pep Boys who helped expand the show which is planned to be a monthly event. The long lines of gorgeous, gleaming cars parked along both sides of Las Olas gave the street a festive and exciting mood and many “cruisers” were out to drool over these works of motor art and enjoy the “excuse” for a stroll on the Boulevard. A final count of 125 classics were in attendance. Music by "Cruisin’ South Florida" and several radio stations who added their own activity booths added more entertainment and excitement. Thank goodness, for with much of west Las Olas closed, awaiting re-construction, the street has been rather sad-looking and quiet these days. I would like to commend Gagliano and Pep Boys for taking the time and effort to promote this wonderful hobby and business for many people in South Florida--and I am sure that the retailers and restaurants on Las Olas feel the same. Adding tourist attraction value, foot traffic and local interest and flavor, the Classic Car Shows are a wonderful addition to our “things to do” list here. And kudos to all the car owners who shared their beautiful machines with us. They don’t receive much besides compliments and trophies, but they put many hours and dollars into their passion. While taking in the balmy December night and sites, one of my visitors said, “No one in Michigan is doing this tonight!” and with the state of the auto business today, these cars are a part of history that is not likely to be repeated! Thanks to Russ Gagliano and Pep Boys for keeping the old glimmer of Detroit alive in South Florida! |
