Update 9pm: What a GREAT show it was today. Well over 100+ of South Florida's best classic cars came out to celebrate & enjoy the final show of 2006. There were car show vendors, shops, live entertainment, and plenty of spectators too. Majic radio's Joe Johnson was on hand too, visiting with the folks, and giving away prizes too. He is the "crazy nut" pictured in lower left of Jet Truck photo that signals the jets when it's time to "blast off"! Paul's knowledge of racing is only surpassed by his good nature & fun loving spirit!) Paul, it's been my privilege to call you a "good friend" over the past few years! Great show Sunday. Photos will be available soon...
Nov 1: Welcome to November! What a great month of shows & cruise nights we just went through in October! It was impossible to make it to all the shows, since some ran at the same time, but it was great to have so many to choose from. November & December will be no exceptions, with some additional quality new shows being added to the mix this year. Watch for the new "Gulfstream Park" Benefit Classic Car Show on Nov 11, and the all new "Festival Flea Market 1st Annual Holiday Classic Car Show" on Dec 2, two of the biggest shows of the season. Russ has been working overtime on these events. Of course, we have the monthly "Dream Car Classic" in Hollywood on the 1st Sunday of each month, and the 19th Annual "Pompano Lincoln Mercury Classic Car, & Truck Show" in December. Also returning to the December line up is the Annual "Toys in the Sun Run" Bike & Car Show hosted by the "Cruisers of South Florida". The "Mopar Show" at Moroso Motorsports Park was also moved from Sept to December 10th this year. UPDATE: Dec 17 we will return to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino for the final car show of 2006. More details to follow. Show coordinator: Russ Gagliano. Cruise nights this season include "J.B. Locals Saturday Night Cruise" this weekend, the "Miami Lakes Mainstreet Veteran's Show" at the Mainstreet on Nov 11. Plenty to see & do! Go out and enjoy the good weather this time of season, and the great shows! Take care, Scott

HAPPY HALLOWEEN |
Oct 29: When it comes to PERFECT days...they don't get any better than it was today! It was cool & sunny all day today at the Downtowner Halloween show, and plenty of folks came out to enjoy. There were lots of spectators too. We enjoyed live entertainment from "Grooveline". The cars were set against the backdrop of boats, bikini's, yachts, and beautiful tall buildings in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. While out shooting hundreds of photos, I got to visit with a lot of friends too. It was one of the more enjoyable shows of the year. Thanks to Keith & the Downtowner for a wonderful day.
Oct 27:
Happy Halloween
weekend! What a busy month it has been...and we're just getting
started! Saturday night we'll be at "J.P.Mulligan's Saturday Night Cruise" for the last cruise of 2006. We will return in 2007 for another great year of cruising here. Great food, parking, & music, and it's free. Easy to get to on the corner of Taft / Flamingo in Pembroke Pines. Sunday, it's time once again for the "Downtowner Annual Halloween Rod Run & Car Show" in Ft. Lauderdale. This years show will feature "live" entertainment by "GROOVE LINE", a costume contest for the kids, a great venue on the intracoastal waterway, plenty of trophies, a BBQ, lots of giveaways, & fun too. Hosted annually by "Keith's Rod's & Customs"...they always do a great job with this show. I'll be out kicking back & doing photo coverage of this event.
Don't forget to set your
clock back 1 hour on Saturday night...an extra hour of sleep! Woo-hoo!

*OCTOBER NEWS* |
Oct 15: It's been a busy weekend so far... and it's not over yet! Weather was good for a "Friday the 13th" Towershoppes Friday night cruise. Today was busy with several shows. We had a nice show at Miami Springs tonight. A lot of people really got into the festivities with the season decorations. Photos will be available later this week. Diane made her 1st (and last) guest DJ appearance at a local Coconut Creek cruise spot tonight. Thanks for helping out Dee. "Live & learn" as they say... Don't let them get you down! The nice part is, that we'll never go back to that cruise night spot again! I promise! Today... I'm heading to Moroso for Day 2 of the "Ford Power Fest". Lots to see and do. I'll have plenty of photos...see you there! UPDATE: What a great day it was at Moroso! As I said, plenty to see and do, but the high point of my day was standing between to roaring jet cars as they blasted off down the 1/4 mile! What a thrill! It was like standing in a tornado with two solid walls of fire on each side! The thrust and the pounding was relentless! Unfortunately, you can't take photos directly from behind a jet. But I have a few directly from in front, plus a full day of show cars & trucks, some fun people shots, and some smokin bikini contest photos you won't want to miss. They should be available sometime later this week. The band rocked us, the weather was great, and it was a non-stop fun day! Oct 11: Hi everyone! I missed most of you this past weekend...I was in Gainesville for Diane's "class reunion". The weather was cool & clear...down to the 50's. It was a nice getaway with the family too. Gas was $2.12 in Ocala. While I was away, I heard the "Road Knight's" show was a nice success, with a good turnout of cars. They always do a great job, and it was a benefit show for the kids. BIG NEWS! This Saturday, Oct. 14, CruisinSouthFlorida.com will be celebrating it's 1st birthday! Exactly 1 year on the web! Woo-hoo! It's been quite a learning experience, considering a year ago I had no idea how to host a website. I'm still learning, and hope to share some more new ideas in the near future. The support from you all has been wonderful! Thanks so much for being part of the experience! Check out our 1st home page back when we were still "under construction"... Welcome 2005 Saturday night, Oct 14, you're invited to join us at the "Octoberfest" Car Show, brought to you by Jumpin' Jack and the City of Miami Springs. The show wraps around the park at the "Circle of Miami Springs", and always draws a large turnout. There will be awards for "Best Decorated" vehicles for the season, as well as a large TV raffle. Proceeds will go to the "Majic Children's Fund". The biggest event this weekend, is the BIG 2 day "Ford Power Festival" at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach. This years line-up includes live entertainment both days, as well as a bikini contest Sunday. The jet cars will be lighting up the skies, and the finest Fords & Ford powered cars will be on display too. Of course there's plenty of non-stop drag racing, a flea market, the Manufacturers midway, the car corral, and stuff for the kids too. I'll be going up Sunday to cover the event.
I have a pair of
FREE "Guest Passes" for the
"Ford Power Festival"
to the 1st person to send in a photo of themselves with a 1974 or older
classic car or truck, holding a "Happy Birthday CruisinSouthFlorida.com"
sign. I will also be giving free passes away this Friday night at
Towershoppes Friday Night Cruise. There are a lot of GREAT shows coming soon, with more surprises in the works! Stay tuned! (LAST) weekend's show lineup:

WELCOME TO FALL! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sept 24: Welcome to fall! On Sat, Sept 23, at 12:03 am, we reached the "autumnal equinox". That is where the sun appears to cross the celestial equator, from north to south; marking the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. As we come into fall here in So. Fla, we also come into "car show season"! While not out of hurricane season yet, we should start to enjoy better daily weather. For the next 2 months or so, we will have many great shows to enjoy. We started off with some great cruise nights this weekend...Towershoppes was packed to capacity Friday night with perfect weather and record breaking crowds...and tonight we enjoy another great cruise night at "Side Pockets" in Margate. Here are some of the shows coming in October:

Towershoppes Friday Night Cruise! |
Sept 24: The rainy season has really be difficult for many, and the "Towershoppes Friday Night Cruise" is no exception. In an effort to keep S. Florida's largest cruise night alive, the fee to park at "Towershoppes "is being raised from $1 to a "whopping" $2 starting Oct 6. The cost of city permits, management contract fees, insurance, police protection, dj entertainment, & clean-up, all come at a price. Most of the money needed to support this event is raised thru fees collected from vendors, but with the loss of some of our bigger & smaller vendors in the past few years, as well as the loss of a sponsor, the money needed has to be raised somehow. Quite a bit of money has to be raised just to break even. And if the guys busting their butts running the show are lucky enough to make a few bucks that has to be split, on a good night...so what! Do you think it's easy or fun having to collect from all the cars that show up every Friday night, and having to deal with the city, the management, and having to deal with the people & their problems that arise every Friday night? Would you do it every week for nothing? Believe me, if they could do the show without having to collect, they would stop in a heartbeat!. If you love your "classic car sport" like I know most of you do... then feel "honored" to support this event, and to support the folks who work hard to keep it going! A full night of some of the best fun you can have with your car buddies... at about the cost of a soda at a restaurant. If you are too "cheap" or "tight" to support our cruise... then stay home! And when I say "our" cruise, I mean all of us. But I'll just warn you... don't complain to me about $2. You won't get my sympathy. For 14 years we got a free ride, but times are getting tougher... and that includes our "cruise nights". Even if you don't like Sid... just give him the 2 bucks and smile and know your doing your part to support your favorite classic car cruise on a Friday night! Keep supporting the vendors too... as they are the life-blood of this cruise. Yearly collectable & commemorative magnetic passes are also still available. Sept 22: It was a record breaking night... packed to capacity... and a welcome change from the rainy season that has been killing us. The weather was perfect, the crowds came out in droves, and finding parking was no simple task unless you got there early. It was a good night to be out, and it was great to have some big vendors with us like "Horse Power Sales", as well as appearances by the Powerboat club, and a real nice display of bikes by "Chopper Nation". In addition to the regular great cars that always come out, some of the other highlights included the display of Paul's new "supercharger" (keep secret), Capt Al showing off his new SSR, and appearances by models & Cigarette boats. It was a jam-packed "happening" night!

"SEMINOLE PARADISE" LABOR DAY WEEKEND SHOW! SUNDAY - DAY 2 What a GREAT show it was today! Today was "THE" day to have been at this show! We had a very nice turnout of cars parked all throughout the 'Seminole Hard Rock Casino' complex, along with "live" entertainment by "The Fabulons" on the outdoor stage... 'Majic 102.7's Joe Johnson was on hand doing a remote broadcast & giving away prizes in the courtyard...while I was setup with the folks parked on the front sidewalk at the entrance greeting the droves of spectators coming in. A lot of friends & car people came out to spectate & enjoy too. Hats of to Russ Gagliano for organizing this spectacular show at one of South Florida's TOP locations, & a thanks to "Seminole Paradise" for having us 2 days on this Labor Day holiday! We were quite fortunate to get in most of today's show in with excellent weather, but the rain finally couldn't hold back & let loose on us late in the day. Many of the car guys found refuge in the many restaurants & bars located through out the complex. Some of our car guys won some nice money in the casino too. All in all, a great day & a lot of fun too. Awards were personally handed out individually during the rain. I have 2 days worth of some great photos to go through & hope to have them posted tonight! Here's a "teaser" for ya...the "Hooters Girls" came out and posed for some shots with the cars... UPDATE: I will be posting all the photos, along with trophy information, and a lot of other information very soon. There are a lot of great photos to go through...which you all have made possible. I have been selecting, editing, fixing & processing hundreds of pictures, and I am in the final stages of creating the thumbnail & web pages. With a little extra tweaking of the processing settings, the photos taken with the loaner novice cameras should come out looking pretty good. After uploading, they will be indexed & linked, and will finally be made available for your viewing pleasure... which is now looking more like sometime Wednesday evening...

July 11, 2006. Well, it's JULY in South Florida! That means HOT weather & rain! There's not much going on in the way of daytime shows, but you can certainly find some great places to cruise at in the evening hours here. We started off the month with a 1st class "free" show at the "Circle in Miami Springs". The weather was ideal! It was clear with a nice breeze...quite unusual for this time of year! Over 150+ cars were on display, and many received unique awards for a "4th of July" theme. We had live entertainment with "Treble in Paradise" singing some great oldies and classic standards. We also raffled off a 32" color TV, and just enjoyed a great evening of music and good company. The night seemed to end too soon. An excellent job by "Jumpin' Jack and the City of Miami Springs. 2006 Photos Moving into July, it's been "hit & miss" with our "cruise nights" getting cancelled due to weather. Last week, it was the 1st good weather night at the new "Side Pockets" cruise in Margate. This new cruise has taken the place of the old Crabby Jacks cruise on Sunday nights. It's a huge sports bar with with ample parking and should make for a great cruise spot. Awards, 20% meal discount with show car, and great oldies & doowap by Rockin Rich...look for this one every Sunday night from 5:30-8:30 pm. Flier On July 15th, there will be
another free cruise as part of a great series of FREE shows at Montella
Park in
Hollywood. Russ Gagliano is host to a great cruise night &
FREE concert with the
"Fabulons". All vehicles & clubs welcome,
no year cut off. Cars parked on grass, dash plaques, coolers are
welcome, although there will
be food & beverages sold by City of Hollywood. Map J.P.Mulligan's cruise has been moved to the 4th Saturday (this month only) July 22, from 6-9pm at Taft / Flamingo Rd. Another great cruise spot with excellent food & discount, good lighting & a big parking lot, awards, & music. Hosted by "Jumpin' Jack, this cruise always brings in a nice crowd with some quality classic cars. Flier Map July will wrap up with a BIG show... the "2nd Annual Hot August Nights" at Sheehan Pontiac in Pompano. There will be Top 30 open class awards, vendors, food, 50/50, and music. Live entertainment by "Jimmy Stowe & the Stowaways". This show benefit's the "Broward Children's Center". The lot has great lighting, but get there early as cars were turned away at the last show. Flier Next month, we look forward
to another hot one, starting off Sunday, Aug 6 with one of my favorite
events... As always, you can get all the latest South Florida classic car show info right here at CruisinSouthFlorida.com. Take care,

WELCOME TO HURRICANE SEASON! Posted: June 1, 2006 / Updated June 6 JUNE UPDATE: Hi everyone! Get out the umbrella's, June is upon us, and so is the "rainy season". If you haven't noticed already, at the time of this writing, there are no major "open" car shows currently scheduled for the month of June. So take advantage of the few cruise nights we have, starting with Friday night at 'Towershoppes', the 1st Saturday at 'Steak-n-Shake". There will be a "J.P.Mulligan's Cruise" the last Saturday of this month. Great news...starting soon, there is a new local cruise spot, "Side Pockets" in Margate. The 'Side Pockets' Sunday Night Cruise will replace the 'Crabby Jacks' Boca Cruise, which has officially been CANCELLED. The new cruise will start Sun, June 25. Support these cruise spots, because with out them, we'd be looking for some place to go, especially during the summer months. They are typically free, but rely heavily on support to their hosts & sponsors. More details here at Cruise Nights.
Update: 'Crabby
Jack's Sunday Night Cruise is officially
CANCELLED indefinitely. Our next scheduled "open" car show is the "Independence Day Car Show" at the "Circle" at Miami Springs on July 3, brought to you by "Jumpin' Jack", and it's FREE. There will be awards, TV raffles & other giveaways too. Coming the 1st Sunday of August is "Hot Rod Sunday", one of my favorite events at 'Moroso'. The entire month of September has been cancelled due to previous yearly hurricane activity, and a new lack of interest. Florida no longer participates in September, so please remove it from your calendars. If you really get bored, then stop by and see me at 'Hooters' in Pembroke Pines on any Wednesday night from 7-10pm, and check out the bike cruise hosted by 'Peterson's' H.D. A lot of nice custom Harley's & custom choppers too. We play some really great "classic" rock from the 60's, 70's, & 80's, and crank it up. We get a nice crowd there, and many of the bikers are car people too. In fact, some of our "regular" car people have been spotted making "secret" visits, but what goes on at 'Hooters', stays at 'Hooters'. Stop by for fun, kick back and enjoy some wings and a cold one with some great music, and enjoy the nice view too. The "Hot Rod Power Tour" starts this weekend, going from the "Orange County Convention Center" in Orlando, up through the mountains, to the Northeast U.S. somewhere. This would have been the ideal year to participate, as it starts in our own back yard, and may not return here for quite some time. I had hoped to take my '71 Cutlass convertible on the journey, but it just wasn't ready. The 'tour' will be stopping at the "Gainesville Speedway" this Sunday along the way, before the journey takes it out of state. Good luck to those fortunate folks going, have fun, drive safe, and "God speed" to ya. Bring back some pictures & some great stories! Update: I was in Gainesville this weekend while the tour was passing through, and caught some of the show as it was heading out on it's journey to it's next destination in Georgia. 2006 Photos Speaking of hurricane season, get stocked up. They are predicting 17 named storms this year, and expect the season to be active. Buy gas, gas cans & food supplies now, while there are no lines. If you live in Florida, own a home, and you don't own a generator yet, you should consider it a necessity. I ran my entire house on my 4000 watt generator last year for almost 2 weeks straight. It was the single best investment I've ever made! I call it "Scott's Power & Light" company. It was a blessing to have power when the neighborhood was dark. Buy big enough to "share" with your neighbors too. I want to thank everyone who has written or stopped me, for the nice compliments and feedback on this web site. It's mostly just a hobby, but it takes time to do, and the comments make it worth while. It's still relatively new, and I'm still learning. In fact, I just enrolled in a course in professional "web design" so I'd have more to do during the summer. Watch for some possible changes & further improvements here as I am currently writing in the most basic HTML right now. The main intent here though, is to display car show related info & photos, and I feel this is being accomplished. Also, I'll be adding some pictures soon I've been collecting from 'Towershoppes' on Friday nights over the past few months, so watch for those as well. If you haven't signed the "Guest Book" yet, you're invited to do so. It's an open guest forum, so include anything you might feel is fun, or of interest. Computer tip of the month: If your viewing with a "CRT" monitor (not a flat screen), the single best improvement you can make is to change the refresh rate from default (60hz) to 75hz - 85hz or higher. This will GREATLY reduce eyestrain flicker that you probably don't even realize is there. After the change, you will see & actually "feel" the improvement! For some, it has even restored their "psychic powers". Seriously, it will make a BIG improvement! Instructions to do this along with some great little freebie programs are on my software page. Run the "cleaners" too...they really work & clean up the clutter! Software Page Well, take care this summer, stay out of trouble, and try to keep dry. If you start to miss the "blue skies", you can always check out the spring time car show photos, or maybe some of the bikini show photos as well. We'll see ya at the next show! -Scott "The MusicMan" |

[Sun. Apr. 9,2006] Hi Everyone! I just got home from the "Miracle Mile" show. What a GREAT day! While Broward County was getting pounded with a weather front that came through, it was beautiful & sunny in Coral Gables. Saw a lot of familiar faces & a lot of GREAT cars...a really nice show. Nice job by the 'AACA-South Florida Region'. Add that to the absolutely awesome cruise we had last night at "Miami Lakes Mainstreet" and it was quite a weekend! The weather for this show was great too, we had "live entertainment", lots to do & see, a big crowd, and over 145 cars! Hats off to "Jumpin' Jack" and the City of Miami Lakes for an excellent evening! I have hundreds of photos from each show to go through, but I hope to have some of them up as soon as this evening. To all the friends I got to see this weekend...take care! See you again soon. -"Scott the Musicman" PS: Next BIG show... Pirates World Reunion Show this Saturday. < click link for more details! |

Miramar's
2nd Annual
Car & Truck
Show
Everything was in place for the big show. Then the show kicked off promptly at start time with the arrival of a heavy rain front. However, the bad weather passed quickly & the show went on. 59 beautiful cars & trucks came out in support of a GREAT show & cause. We had vendors, BBQ, & exhibitions. Many nice items were raffled off, including an autographed 'Stratocaster' guitar signed by Kenny Rogers which was awarded to Joe Bevelecqua in the silent auction. Proceeds went to the P.A.L. By afternoon, the looming weather returned, so trophies were handed out early. The 'Renegade Corvette Club" came out in force & took home many raffle items, along with the $100 club participation award, which they generously donated back to the show. Thanks to the City of Miramar, Jumpin' Jack, & all our strong supporters who came out, despite the weather. Photos |

"HOT ROD SUNDAY" ! An absolute "picture perfect" day at Moroso! Photo's here! |
UPDATE:
GREAT NEWS!
SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 2006 (posted from email) Today at 5PM Ray finally received his assistance dog. We understand the first dog they trained failed her final exam as it didn't like loud noises and had to be adopted by someone that didn't need an assistance dog. The new dog, Umpire, delivered today, is a 2 year old (on Jan 29) male black lab mix. Ray loves him already but will have to be trained with the dog for a couple of weeks before they can go out in public. Thanks to all of you that helped with the car show where many dollars were raised for the 'Paws With A Cause' charity. -Russ & Elaine Kelly |

Maroone Halloween Spooktakular Classic Car Show" Pictures What a show! Despite a few occasional sprinkles throughout the day, it was a nice turnout of 130+ cars & plenty of spectators too. The colorful event shirts were FREE! < The dash plaques were FREE! The food & drinks were FREE! Eric Brandon was on hand from Majic 102.7 radio doing a "live broadcast" on location, and doing "spin the wheel" for FREE prizes. (Eric Brandon pictured here with 'Jumpin Jack') > < Our "entertainment" arrived as the "Beverly Hillbillies". 'Maroone Auto' offered them a sweet "trade-in deal" on their "old" car... for a newer one! 'Trebel in Paradise' entertained us "live" with their wonderful > harmonies! Read more about them here: http://www.luwhite.com/ < Russ & Elaine enjoyed the free food & drinks! There were lots of GREAT cars, and awards were handed out at the end, including a bunch of "Best Decorated" for our "Halloween in January" makeup event. You can always count on Jack for some "unique" trophies > Many took home awards! (click any picture to enlarge)There was a good turnout by car clubs such as the 'Starlight Cruisers' & the 'America's Corvette Club' to name a few.
Between the weather & running sound for our singers, I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked to. I hope I got most of you... At the end, there were 2 very nice large TV's raffled off. 1st, a 24" Samsung Flat Panel & 2nd, a 32" Sylvania, which was won by Joe of 'America's Corvette Club' . He was forced to patiently wait for his wife to drive to Deerfield Beach & back with a van to pick it up! Hat's off to Jumpin' Jack, all the volunteer help, & 'Maroone Chevrolet' for a fine show! Show photos here! |
Homestead's 21st Annual "Frontier Days" Show! It was a beautiful day on the "Mainstreet" in Homestead for the 21st Annual "Frontier Day" classic car show. The street was packed to capacity with fully original or restored classics & antiques. Losner Park was full of vendors & display vehicles which included ponies, a fire truck, and a helicopter, courtesy of Miami-Dade Fire & P.D. 'Thunder Country' radio was host to the "Little Miss Cowgirl & Little Mr. Cowboy" contest, where the kids were wonderful on stage. The show this year was moved from 'Harris Field' to the Krome Av Mainstreet, and between all the activities, restaurants & show cars, there was plenty to see & do. A great crowd, & a great show by the AACA So.Fla.Region & the "Mainstreet Association". See all the photo's here.

"Darrell Gwynn 6th Annual High Performance Car Show" at 'Sheehan Pontiac' was a huge success! The show was a huge success with close to 200 cars in attendance. I've never seen so many cars packed into one lot as tight as they were. Some cars had to be turned away, as the lot was at absolute full capacity with overflow at capacity as well. Rockin' Rich did a great job with the music & Eugene and his crew did a great job with the organization. The weather was clear & cool. The lighting was phenomenal! There was live entertainment, plenty of racers & their cars, as well as a packed out crowd & some awesome cars. A 1st class show to start off the new year! Thanks to all who came out & made this night one to remember. Photos

(Posted from email: 1/4/2006) Izzy Tomaselli [of the Starlight Cruisers] had a heart attack and underwent a double by-pass last night. He is in ICU at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation. He is in good condition and should be moved to a regular room on Friday. Cards would be appreciated. I don't have the hospital address and at this time have no idea how long he will be there. His home address is 11250 NW 25 Street, Plantation, Fl 33323. Thanks Carole (posted from email 1/4) | |
----------------- 2005.12.04 ----------------- It was a CAR SHOW "MEGA-WEEKEND"!!! (below posted Sunday Dec 4) Hello folks, welcome to another BEAUTIFUL day! I'm actually typing this message "live" from my DJ tent in the center median of Hollywood Blvd at the "Dream Car Classic" through Hollywood's wireless WIFI network! How's that for cool! (live photo 1pm)
Joe Johnson of Majic 102.7 is here broadcasting live, so tune in... Come down & enjoy this fabulous show. Hollywood Blvd is closed to local traffic. Our vendors are here, we've got a live jazz band doing holiday music on stage, and lots of beautiful cars! It's 1pm and they're still rolling in steady... ------------------------------------------------- Yesterday's SABA Show was a great success. Pictures will be available soon... Weather for this weekend's "showdown" of numerous classic car shows & cruises looks ideal! It all started with the "Towershoppes Friday Night Cruise". Then it's up early Saturday morning for the BIG "S.A.B.A Classic Car Show & Street Party" in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. 5 city blocks long, with over 200 classic, antique, & specialty vehicles in attendance last year. Dr. Detroit will be coming in from Deland for this major event. The car show goes from 10-4pm, but the street festival will continue on with live bands and stuff for the kids. Saturday night the street festival continues. Also, Saturday night, the Steak-n-Shake will host it's monthly cruise, from 6-9pm, with 'Rockin' Rich'. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, the "showdown' goes into overdrive! 3 more shows! (#1) The "Time Bandits" will be at 'Pompano Lincoln Mercury' for their "17th Annual Christmas Car & Truck Show". (#2) The 'Cruisers of South Florida' will be at Markham Park for the "18th Annual Toys in the Sun Run" bike & car show. This event is a lot of fun. There will be GREAT live entertainment on stage all day with appearances by Steven Tylor, and 'Blue Oyster Cult' will be the main act. There is nice V.I.P. parking for the carshow participants. Awards will be handed out here as well. It's $20, and you MUST be in park before 10am!! (otherwise, you'll have to wait behind about 30,000 motorcycles, which takes most of the day!) (#3) Lastly, the city of Hollywood', along with Russ Gagliano, presents the "Downtown Hollywood Dream Car Classic" on the Boulevard! This show has turned into one of the finest shows in the area! Downtown Hollywood Blvd is blocked to traffic, with great parking, plenty of shade, great music (that's me!), and stores, shops, and restaurants all up and down the street. Show hours are from 10-4, with awards handed out. Flier If you still have any energy left, you can wrap up your weekend at the 'Crabby Jacks Sunday Night Cruise' in Deerfield with 'Rockin Rich' . A great cruise spot with a nice discount on the food. Plenty to do this weekend, GREAT weather too! Clean the tires, get the chrome shined up, the paint polished, and get out there and attend all that you can. Next weekend will pretty much wrap up the shows until January of next year. More info, show maps & fliers available at Events. Here's the "Cruisin with the Music Man" printable update flier. Take care, see you tomorrow & Sunday! -Scott |

This show was a GREAT success! Joe Trites gave an awesome
performance with his "Tribute to Elvis". 85 cars in attendance
along with many spectators, plus perfect weather, made tonight's cruise
spectacular. Look for our next "Mainstreet Cruise" in the spring
sometime. Thanks to all who came out!
(check out the few photos I was able to take at "Photos" button)
"Miami Lakes 'Mainstreet' Cruise". This is a FREE cruise, from 6-10pm on the 'Mainstreet' in Miami Lakes. One of the nicest cruise spots in South Florida. Take Flamingo Rd (Ludlam Rd) south of the Palmetto about 1 mile and it's on your right (west side). There will be "live" entertainment with a "Tribute to Elvis" by 'Elvis J', as well as a great oldies DJ (that's me). A great venue with a lot of restaurants, shops, and spectators. The 'Mainstreet' is blocked off to local traffic. Another great event brought to you by: "Jumpin' Jack Productions". Flier |
2005.11.19 | Towershoppes was a "bust" last night. Poor turnout by cars & vendors due to weather. Moroso had a nice event last night, a BBQ & party for the racers of the '5 Day Brackets'. A lot of serious racers in attendance took a few moments to stop and eat some ribs and drink some beers. Tonight, I look forward to see some of you in Miami Lakes for a nice cruise! |

Just got home from the "Downtowner" show. It was a pretty nice turnout. The "rod run" had a good group as well that left from the 'Towershoppes early this morning. Keith says next year he will look into a "police escort" (usually they're chasing him). The weather got a little overcast with some light off-&-on rain, as well as some off-&-on sunshine. I guess I should stop trying to predict the weather. Well anyway, saw a lot of familiar faces... |

(am) |
Good Morning Folks! I'm going out to wash the convertible, and then head up to the "Downtowner" show today. Radar & Satellite are "all clear"! DJ Eugene will be entertaining us with some great music, and I'm looking forward to some great food too. Pics from today's show will be viewable this evening. I also added 3 more shows yesterday, and expanded the "Events" calendar well into 2006. Take care... |
2005.11.11 | Hi again everyone! Last night was a good night at Towershoppes! Things are finally getting back to normal, or as normal as it can be. Looks like good weather for this weekend. Looking forward to a nice show tomorrow at the "Downtowner". I'll see you there! |
